Changelog

What's been added and improved.

June 2026 (Beta)

  • Clean up with AI — one click in the editor reformats any messy recipe into a clean card (keeps the original language), right in the app, powered by Gemini 2.5 Flash from Google AI Studio — free for everyone while we’re in beta
  • Nutrition facts — add a Nutrition section (Calories, Protein, Carbs, Fat…) and it shows as its own strip on the card, in all six languages
  • Dark mode — pick Light, Dark, or System from the footer; it follows your device by default and remembers your choice. Printed cards always stay light.
  • A friendly 404 page when a recipe, profile, or link can’t be found, with a way back to start a new recipe
  • First-run walkthrough that points out the import box, editor, live card, and saving — replay it anytime from the Formatting help page
  • Language selector in the footer for the site's interface — English, French, Dutch (rolling out across the app; your recipes are never translated)
  • Send a recipe to another user by @username — it waits in their inbox and joins their collection only once they accept
  • Sort your profile collection by recently edited, newest, or title
  • Skeleton loaders while pages open, so a tap gives instant feedback instead of a frozen screen
  • A playful display font for recipe card titles, the Recipe Cards wordmark, and profile names
  • “Need inspiration?” — a curated set of recipe sites to import from, on your category pages
  • Install Recipe Cards as an app — “Add to Home Screen” on phones, Install on desktop, works offline
  • Imports now pull in the recipe’s own photo from the page (instead of a stock search)
  • Can’t import a site (e.g. a login wall)? Save the link to retry or add by hand later — synced to your account and shown privately on your profile
  • Imported recipes now keep a Source link, shown as attribution on the card
  • Help page: a copy-paste AI prompt to format any messy recipe
  • Cooking log: record each time you make a recipe with a date, 3-star rating, and notes
  • “Made” badge & filter on your profile grid for recipes you've cooked (private to you)
  • Your chosen emoji logo now shows next to your name on your profile
  • Autocomplete from your existing tags when adding tags
  • Confirmation dialog before deleting a recipe
  • Save a whole shared category to your own collection in one click
  • Edit saved recipes in modal editor with live preview
  • Tags & categories: organise recipes with free-form tags
  • Edit tags inline on your own recipe pages
  • Browse a profile by tag: click a tag to filter the collection
  • Shareable category pages (/u/username/t/tag) for any tag
  • Brand footer on printed cards / PDFs

PROPro features

  • Export your whole collection — one click on your profile downloads every recipe as a .zip of Markdown files that re-import cleanly
